8 Perfect Books for Summer Reading

It's summer!! And the best part of summer is sitting by the water, in the sun, with a big floppy hat, an excellent book, and no worries for miles (maybe a margarita or two...). Summer reading is the best reading, the days are longer and more relaxed so you can fully immerse yourself in stories that, when you re-read them, will always remind you of summertime. Below are 8 of my favourite summer reads that always take me back to beach when I open them:

Well Met - Jen DeLuca

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Emily spends her summer helping her injured sister and taking care of her niece in the tiny town of Willow Creek where she lands herself a role as bar wench in the town's legendary Rennaissance Fair. It's just her luck that the man she can't stand in real life turns out to be her "love interest" at the fair. Will their relationship continue to be a farce? Or will Emily's opinions change?

American Royals - Katharine McGee

Genre: Alternate History/ Contemporary Romance

This book follows the story of the Washington Family in present-day if their Ancestor, George Washington, had become King instead of President. Take a dive into the lives of the Royals and their complicated love lives: Beatrice is next in line for the throne and must choose a suitor but the man she really loves is less than suitable for a Queen, Samantha is the forgotten sister who won't stop fighting for a love that may never be hers, and Jefferson is the Prince all the girls go crazy over except for the one girl he really wants.

Little Fires Everywhere - Celeste Ng

This book will hook you in, keep you glued, and make you feel every emotion that exists. In a suburb of Cleveland in the 90's, two very different women struggle to hide secrets and rivalries that could very well damage everything and everyone they hold dear. Custody battles, secret identities, teenage angst, it all boils down to a disastrous event that changes life as they know it.

Good Omens - Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

Genre: Humour, Fantasy, Fiction

Hilariously funny, a story of the apocalypse and a race between angels and demons to find the missing anti-christ. Whichever side finds him first, wins the apocalypse. What they didn't account for was a stray angel and stray demon becoming friends and teaming up to stop the apocalypse that will forever change the world they've come to love.
