What to Watch-Fall 2019
I am proud of myself. I've managed to go the entire summer without binge watching. The problem with this? I have a million shows to catch up on now that I missed all the summer releases. That along with trying to get through my TBR list feels like SO MUCH PRESSURE. Am I the only one that feels this way? Everyone talks about what happened on this episode and how this season ended and it's so hard to stay away from spoilers. But I've tried to cut down on the TV watching in my life. Ever since streaming services became a thing it's taken a major hit on my reading and social life and I want to get back to actually living and not just being a couch potato.
That being said, once the weather gets cold I'll have a few weekends coming up where I can take a lazy day to myself and just veg. Which is so much more satisfying when it's not something that you do all the time. It makes watching TV or even a movie a whole new experience when you go without for a while. So once I get the time this fall/winter, I have quite a few shows I'm excited to catch up on.
- Jessica Jones
The third and final season is still something I haven't gotten around to. Mainly because I love this show and don't really want it to end.
About a girl with a pretty jaded past and some awesome super powers who becomes a sort of "anti-hero". She's also a PI which is pretty badass. And she's played by Krysten Ritter who is amazing. If you've never seen it, David Tennant in season 1 as the villian will blow. you. away. (You'll never hear his Doctor accent the same way again. Chills) - Good Girls
Three women, mothers, desperate for money for different trials in their lives, some gang action, and robbery. The best combination for entertainment! Mae Whitman became a favourite of mine in Parenthood so I figured I'd give this show a go because of her and I was not disappointed. Season 2 is finally up and I've powered through it faster than I've gone through a TV show in a long time! - How to Get Away with Murder
I put off this show for so long. Still mad at Shonda Rhimes for ruining Greys for me (haven't watched an episode since the plane crash and glad of it), I figured this would be more of the same and would eventually disappoint me. But that hasn't happened yet so we're good! This one is about law students who find themselves in a series of unfortunate crimes. They continue going to school and working cases for their Professor while also hiding their own criminal activities. - A Discovery of Witches
I've been meaning to get around to this for a while now. Matthew Goode always intrigues me in whatever he's in. Plus it's been some time since I've visited the supernatural in the TV world. A vampire and witch that fall in love even though their "species" are at each others throats (pun intended?). Reminds me a bit of Romeo and Juliet, just more mature and minus the tragic stupidity of teenage "love." - Legion
I watched season one of this show years ago and kind of forgot about by the time season 2 came around. Safe to say I have a few seasons to catch up on. But it's probably one of the best "superhero/anti-superhero" shows I've watched. Dan Stevens plays Legion (son of Charles Xavier), a schizophrenic "mutant" with powerful telekinetic powers. It's pretty trippy and psychologically screws with you which makes it all the more amazing to watch. - The 100
Have mainly been avoiding this due to the pain. I haven't finished the end of season 5 and hae completely avoided season 6. A show about 100 delinquents sent from space to Earth to test whether it is inhabitable. Bellamy and Clarke are the main reason I watch. Their chemistry is out of this world (which I guess is why it shouldn't be surprising their actors married in real life). But all the angst is getting a bit exhausting to watch so I took a much needed break. Only one season left so I better catch up before it's too late!
Because I haven't streamed in a while there's a lot of great new shows out there that I haven't even heard about yet so if you have any TV recs please comment and let me know what I should watch next!
P.S. Good Omens was everything I thought it would be and more.
